DISCOVERING THE NEW MUSIC UNDERGROUND AROUND THE GLOBE
Rock/Review Wreckless Strangers - Dirty Souls
Wreckless Strangers is a collective of friends and musicians carrying the torch for San Francisco’s grand rock ‘n’ roll tradition. Their unique blend of “Ameri-Cali Soul” melds the contemporary blues stylings of Bonnie Raitt and Boz Scaggs; the songwriting sensibilities of Sons of Champlin and Fleetwood Mac; the swashbuckling Americana of the Lost Planet Airmen and Peter Rowan; and the funk of Sly Stone and Tower of Power with a dash of Grateful Dead and Jefferson Airplane for flavor and unpredictability.
Country/Review Wattmore, Allan Caswell - It's Called Love...It's Called The Blues
Wattmore are two brothers who communicate almost entirely through guitar solos, sarcasm, and eye rolls sharp enough to cut glass. They’re awkward, like suddenly forgetting how pockets work or somehow stumbling into brilliance while looking like they took a wrong turn at common sense. Their songs are loaded with grit, mischief, and emotional sucker punches disguised as choruses. Expect dry humor, zero small talk, and the kind of honesty that makes PR departments break out in hives. So pour a glass, lower your standards, and hit play.
Metal/Review Watch Me Die Inside - Infinity Fall I
Aleph is a metal artist from Cyprus whose sound defies traditional genre lines. Active since the early 2000s, he fuses with his project Watch Me Die Inside the sharp intensity of deathcore with the emotional sweep of melodic metal, layered with electro-pop influences and the cold, atmospheric edge of black metal. This hybrid has led him to define his own niche: Deathened Melodic Electro Pop Black Metal.
Pop/Review William Locks - Better off alone
William Locks writes songs that tell the truth about love, loss, hope, and everything in between. With a sound that blends modern pop and heartfelt storytelling, his music captures emotion in its purest form. Every lyric comes from a real place, shaped by moments that leave a mark.
Rock/Review West Wickhams - Sakura
West Wickhams are Jon Othello and Elle Flores, a psychedelique Noir Deux peace, originally from Tresco on the Isles of Scilly. Tresco is famously the island of lost souls and is home to subtropical plants and shipwrecked figureheads. They recently relocated to Richmond, Surrey, where the creatures rule. The West Wickhams are an imagined rival gang to punk-style icons the Bromley Contingent.
Rock/Review Wholes - A Mass in the Water
Wholes is what it sounds like when sleep is no longer sufficient. When the slate can’t be swept clean and thoughts pile on top of thoughts on top of thoughts. Indistinguishable. Unstoppable. A babel of bedlam. Members of Elefant, Pink Room, Hypochristmutreefuzz, and Kolektiv find themselves somewhere between Housewives, David Sylvian, Devo, and Gilla Band.

Pop/Review Wild Horse - Don't Wait
Hailing from East Sussex, England, Wild Horse is an electrifying indie pop outfit formed by brothers Jack and Henry Baldwin, alongside their lifelong friend Ed Barnes, and later joined by Jade Snowdon on keys and violin in 2024. Their sound is a dynamic blend of funk-infused guitar pop, channeling the raw energy of hip-hop rhythms and the timeless swagger of 60s/70s Brit Rock.

Rock/Review Wonderlick - Rhinoceros
Wonderlick's two founding members, Jay Blumenfield and Tim Quirk, came together in December 2000 to record free music for a website. The two had previously performed together under different guises (most notably as one half of the smart punk-pop outfit), but this new project resulted in a concept album that was crafted over the course of a year.

Rock/Review WØLZT - Tapes from the Maze
WØLZT is a solo artist from the French Alps. Always in search of a singular sonic experience with his moody, introspective productions. He now invites us to follow him through the twists and turns of Tapes From The Maze, a three-part instrumental album. For this third opus, he dropped the vocals and created what he calls hypnagogic rock. It's a musical journey—an adventure to be explored with your eyes closed. The listener is more like a passenger here.
Pop/Review Wotts - Wilson
Wotts is an Ottawa, Canada-based indie pop duo made up of vocalist/multiinstrumentalist Jayem and bassist/guitarist Ricky 100. Wotts has hit the stages of RBC Bluesfest, Canadian Music Week, and Junofest and has received shoutouts for their work from several outlets, including CBC Radio (Canada), The Luna Collective (U.S.), Iggy Magazine (France), and Mystic Sons (UK).
Electronic/Review Wavewulf - In Every Blue
Wavewulf (Nicholas Long) was first inspired to play synthesizers at age 13, in the early 90s, when he went to see Depeche Mode and saw them making inspiring music with synthesizers. During his teen and early adult years, he was able to hone his skills in local bands, composing music using synthesizers, midi, and a sequencer.
