The album’s journey is particularly meaningful because its creation was interrupted by a serious health challenge facing drummer Tony Boutin, who was diagnosed with pharyngeal cancer during the recording process. While he underwent intensive chemotherapy and radiation treatments, the rest of the band continued developing the music. Boutin eventually recovered, returned to the project, and completed his drum parts, allowing the album to reach completion.
That resilience becomes part of the record’s story without defining its music. “The Veil” represents a band preserving the adventurous spirit of classic rock while building something personal from it. With the album completed and live rehearsals underway, Translucent Veil are carrying that spirit from the studio toward the stage.
