Rock/Review Love Ghost x The Skinner Brothers - Worth It

Love Ghost is a band that has roots back to 2015 in Los Angeles, originally started by Finnegan Bell; the name comes from his fascination with love and death. The music combines multiple genres, including rock music, grunge, trap, and emo. Love Ghost is known for doing many collaborations with artists such as Rico Nasty, Bali Baby, Tim Skold, and Dan Garcia.

The Skinner Brothers and Love Ghost collaborate for the third time with “Worth It,” which is undoubtedly their most visceral work to date. The song, a raw slice of alternative rock, aggressively and unapologetically tackles the universal topic of self-worth—Am I enough? The song develops into a cathartic release from the opening eerie notes to the soaring guitar solo, giving voice to the inner struggles and insecurities that so many people experience but seldom express.

Each band contributes unique strengths to the performance. The Skinner Brothers provide grit and swagger, anchoring the song in a jagged rock energy, while Love Ghost offers the emotional weight and melodic tension that have come to define their sound. The end effect is a song that seems both very intimate and arena-ready, a smooth blend of tenderness and revolt.

The song's words pierce the heart, exposing the persistent uncertainties that lurk behind each mirror image. “Worth It,” however, turns that suffering into defiance rather than moping. In addition to elevating the song, the blazing guitar solo toward the conclusion represents the release of suppressed passion and the moment when music itself becomes liberating.

Expectations were high after the success of their previous collaborations, “Scrapbook” and “Freedom in a Padded Cell.” The two artists demonstrate with “Worth It” that they are creating a sound that connects rather than merely experimenting together. Anyone who has overcome their difficulties and is still standing, asking questions, and moving forward should listen to this song.
