Music with Heart and Purpose

Texas native Mark Winters believes music is meant to connect, uplift, and give back. A self-described poet, entrepreneur, and “rocket scientist with a guitar,” Mark channels his energy into songs that inspire positivity and purpose. Deeply involved in his Houston-area community, he mentors young entrepreneurs and supports local causes with the same passion he brings to the stage. His sound, a fusion of rock, blues, and pop, reflects both intellect and heart. With Boundary Layer, Mark reminds listeners that breaking barriers isn’t just a metaphor; it’s a way of life.

A witty poet, passionate musician, and family man, Mark Winters first picked up a guitar to play a song for his wife on their anniversary, a gesture that sparked a lifelong connection to music. Blending his love of poetry, science, and community, he developed his signature “rock with a positive vibe.” Influenced by artists like John Mayer, Tom Petty, and Jason Mraz, Mark writes songs that lift spirits while celebrating the simple beauty of connection.

“My music starts from a place of poetry and creative inspiration,” Mark explains. “I use my ‘rocket-scientist brain’ to explore that initial burst of feeling, like writing haikus, my favorite! My grandmother taught me to express myself through poetry, and I’m thankful she set me on this creative path.”

Armed with a degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mark brings the precision of science to the passion of art, translating complex emotions into melodies that feel effortless and authentic. Since his debut album Slipstream in 2019, he has earned critical praise, landed on hundreds of playlists, and surpassed a million streams worldwide. His latest single, Velocity, continues his upward trajectory, blending heart and intellect in equal measure.

With Boundary Layer, Mark pays tribute to those who helped him push beyond his own limits and embrace the person he was meant to be. The album’s title, borrowed from physics, symbolizes the point where motion begins, a perfect metaphor for the creativity and courage that fuel his work.

Beyond music, Mark and his wife devote time to community outreach, mentoring, and philanthropy throughout the Houston area. His mission is as personal as it is artistic: to make people feel good, connected, and in motion. Listeners drawn to authenticity and optimism will find plenty to love in Mark Winters’ Boundary Layer, a record that reminds us to keep moving, dreaming, and daring.
