Rock/Review 4fro Nick - Don't Waste My Time (LA mix)

4fro Nick, a.k.a. Nick Anastasakis, is a Greek-born, U.S.-based artist whose journey began in Crete, was shaped in New York, and continues to evolve in Los Angeles. As the frontman of the indie rock band 4fro Nick draws inspiration from his childhood on the island of Crete, nestled between the Aegean and Mediterranean Seas. Among his earliest memories are the sounds of gypsies performing on Venetian cobblestone streets, playing guitars for spare coins—moments that would later influence his raw and passionate musical style.

“Don’t Waste My Time (LA mix)” by 4fro Nick is a strikingly confident and emotionally resonant EP that captures the urgency of self-worth and living with intention. Built around a rich fusion of indie rock, soul, and modern pop, the title track immediately sets the tone with expressive vocals and a groove that feels both laid-back and purposeful. The message is clear yet powerful: time is precious, and recognizing your own value is essential. The track’s blend of introspection and quiet defiance gives it a universal appeal, making it easy to connect with on a personal level.

Instrumentally, the EP shines through its organic musicianship. The tasteful guitar work weaves seamlessly with a steady rhythmic backbone, while the contributions from Leo Genovese, Johnny Radelat, and George Athanas add depth and character. There’s a warmth to the production that enhances the authenticity of the performance, allowing each element to breathe naturally without feeling overproduced.

On the B-side, “Get There Before Noon (LA2 mix)” complements the main track beautifully. It shifts the perspective slightly, focusing on seizing the moment and embracing life while it’s still unfolding. The energy remains consistent, but there’s a subtle lift in mood that reinforces the EP’s underlying optimism.

As a limited 7-inch release, this project feels intentional and curated rather than expansive. It’s a snapshot of an artist grounded in real emotion and collaborative spirit. Overall, “Don’t Waste My Time (LA mix)” stands as a compelling blend of style, substance, and sincerity.
